Following the success of the Festival of Architecture 2016, the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland did it again in 2017 – FoA2017. The month of September saw Scotland celebrating Scottish Architecture, its legacy and in particular, 2017's special theme, our homes.
As our contribution the Edinburgh Architectural Association brought together an exhibition:
Modernism In Scotland
The free exhibition brought to you by the EAA, with support of the Glasgow Institute of Architects (GIA), was a culmination of work produced by students at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture in Aberdeen. The exhibition featured over 30 Modernist buildings from post-war Scotland, presented through photographs, drawings and models. Many of the buildings featured were familiar to the general public with a few less well known.
The event was held from 2nd September 2017 - 28th September 2017 in the Lighthouse in Glasgow. We would like to thank the Lighthouse, all the volunteers from the EAA and GIA, and students at the at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture for making this possible.
