JUDGES COMMENTS

“Meadowbank knits together existing fabric and urban realm. A people priority development, it is community led, incorporates landscape and ecology, responds to varied context, heritage, a holistic approach to sustainability and delivers active travel. The masterplan actively supports the city’s net zero targets with reduced car parking places and enhanced cycle storage facilities. The judges felt that the timescales of delivery for Meadowbank would support achieving the City of Edinburgh’s 2030 net-zero targets. The judges also wanted to emphasise that long term visions and masterplans should be promoted by the profession, and we look forward to seeing more masterplans submitted for future Awards.”
