COMMUNITY RETROFIT COFFEE MORNING | More Presentations!

Thank you to everyone who came along to our Community Retrofit Coffee Morning on May 19th at Bellfield in Portobello. There were lots of interesting conversations around the challenges and opportunities in mass adoption of domestic & community retrofit initiatives.

A massive thank you to all of our speakers for their fascinating presentations:

  • Michael & Sarah Lewis, who discussed their own deep retrofit of their post-war end-terrace home in North Berwick

  • Martin McCrae of Paper Igloo, who shared a pre-recorded presentation of the stories behind a number of the practice’s retrofit projects (you can watch Martin’s presentation in full below!)

  • Ben Rainger of Smith Scott Mullan, who spoke about his experience of larger retrofit projects through McDonald Road Fire Station and Buccleuch Street in Dalkeith

  • Christine Stewart of Smith Scott Mullan, who discussed her role as a PAS2035 Retrofit Co-ordinator

  • Joanne McClelland of EALA Impacts, who talked about their work with community-led retrofit initiatives and the collective power of working together

  • Hazel Darwin-Clements of Porty Community Energy, who shared the community group's important work pushing for more sustainable homes, active travel solutions and strong community links for people in Portobello.

We’re delighted to be able to share Martin’s presentation in full here for those who missed it on the day.
