EAA Day-to-Day | Highlight on the EUDP

Collective Architecture - Meadowbank Masterplan | EAA Masterplanning Award Winner 2021

The Edinburgh Urban Design Panel (EUDP) is coordinated and chaired by the City of Edinburgh Council.  It seeks to give design advice and raise the quality of the built environment in Edinburgh by helping designers, developers and clients develop proposals at the pre-application stage. The EUDP is an important component in the pre-application process for major development proposals.

The EUDP panel is formed from representatives from a range of organisations, including the University of Edinburgh and Heriot Watt University, the Cockburn Association, Historic Environment Scotland & Police Scotland. The EAA is also a core member of the panel, and three representatives from the EAA attend each meeting.

Through the EUDP the EAA has the opportunity to help shape projects in Edinburgh, assist with the implementation of planning policy, and advocate for high-quality and sustainable future development.
