CONSULTATION RESPONSE | Domestic Building Environmental Standards Bill
As representatives of the architectural profession and advocates for the built environmental, the EAA is committed to campaigning for positive change in national, regional and local policy and within wider practice.
A key avenue for this campaign work is through consultation responses for proposed Scottish Government bills and acts. The Domestic Building Environmental Standards (Scotland) Bill is a private member’s bill brought forward by Alex Rowley MSP advocating for a Passivhaus-level energy standard for all new-build housing in Scotland. The EAA provided a consultative response to support aspects of the proposed bill and advocate for further measures where suitable and clarification of aspects of the proposals which are not fully resolved.
You can read the EAA’s consultative response to this proposed bill here:
The Scottish Government has committed to matching the proposals within the bill in legislation within the next two years.
We would be delighted for any EAA members to help with contributing to future responses. If there is a particular issue which you would like to raise, or a proposed bill or act to which you would like the EAA to respond, please do get in touch!
