The EAA Awards form the highlight of our EAA year. They are designed to create a showcase for the architectural profession to demonstrate its skills, and its contribution to the environment and the economy. The Awards provide an important and enjoyable opportunity to highlight the excellent work undertaken within the Chapter Area and by Scottish architects in general.

Each year the EAA invites entries across a number of categories, ranging from small projects <£350k to masterplans. The judging panel combines members of the EAA Council and guest judges, including at least one judge each year from a non-architectural background, who study entry information and visit buildings to reach an agreement on the winning entries. For the last two years, a series of short films have been prepared to showcase the shortlisted projects in each category when building visits have not been possible.

The winning projects are announced at the annual awards ceremony, which also acts as a key date in the EAA’s social calendar: all are welcome to gather for a drink and a chat and to celebrate the best in new architecture in Edinburgh and further afield.
