EAA INVITES | Ostro Virtual Tour

We were delighted to spend the evening of Thursday 14th April at Ostro in Kippen, a newbuild house designed by Mhairi Grant & Martin McCrae of Paper Igloo Architecture as their own home.

This self build project has been realised to the highest quality, and their hands on approach to construction has informed the construction and detail of future projects. The house is Passivhaus certified, and meticulously detailed inside and out not only to comply with the details of this certification but also to provide an elegant and workable home for Mhairi & Martin’s needs.

EAA President Joanne McClelland and Trustee Alex Liddell were toured around the house by Mhairi & Martin, followed by an engaging Q&A discussion looking into their experience of Passivhaus self build, the ethos of their wider practice and the lessons learned from the process for the future.
